| We often get asked what the difference is between a dildo and a vibrator. A vibrators primary function is to use vibration as a means of stimulation, whereas dildos don't usually vibrate and rely on the feeling of "fullness" for stimulation.
So, why choose a dildo over a vibrator? Well, some people prefer the stimulation that a vibrator's vibration gives you, whereas others prefer the "fullness" a dildo gives. Dildos are designed specifically for penetration and some come with suction cups, allowing you to mount the dildo on your preferred surface for the ride of your life!
Please bear in mind that bigger isn't necessarily better when purchasing a dildo. Narrower shafts are easier to insert and allow faster stroking, and thicker ones take more inserting and are usually harder to work in and out, although they do give a pleasant sense of "fullness".
TYPES OF DILDO
Realistic Dildos
As the name suggests, dildos that look like a real penis. They come in many shapes and sizes and often moulded from casts created by real penises! The most realistic ones are made of jelly, silicone or cyberskin, basically material that resembles human skin. The realism can extend as far as having veins and testicles attached.
Smooth Dildos
Sleek, seamless and usually constructed of silicone, jelly or translucent rubber.
G-Spot Dildos
G-Spot dildos are designed to hit a woman's G-Spot, the elusive area (that men can't seem to find!) about three inches into the vaginal canal. G-Spot dildos usually have an upturned tip which is used to apply lots of pressure to the G-Spot area. If you are keen on G-Spot stimulation then these dildos are definitely the way to go, especially with lots of lubrication!
Double Dildos
Double Dildos, or "Double Dongs", are usually two realistic dildos joined in the middle. This allows you and your partner (male or female) to experience stimulation together. Warning! These can be quite scary looking to the newcomer as they have a tendency to be rather large!
Strap-on Dildos
These are simply dildos that are attached to a harness or other strap-on device that one partner wears to penetrate another. It is often thought that strap-ons are only for lesbian couples. This is not the case in reality. Women often enjoy penetrating their male partners and vice versa, especially if the male has difficulties in achieving an erection.
The harness itself is usually made out of leather, flexible vinyl or elastic and can be fitted with regular dildos -make sure you get a flared base dildo, otherwise it will slip right out of its fitment. You should also keep size in mind as the harness usually cuts an inch or so off your dildo. You can also get dildos specifically designed to work with a harness.

DILDO TIPS
Dildos, along with copious amount of lubricant, are excellent for both vaginal and anal stimulation. Try these techniques:
Different depths, different sensations!
Insert the dildo into your vagina and then begin moving it in and out. Go as fast and deep as you like -you'll find the sensations different depending on speed and depth. Once you have a bit of a rhythm going, start rubbing your clitoris in time with the strokes. Alternatively, try positioning the dildo so that when it moves in and out it "pulls" a bit, stimulating the clitoris.
Ride your dildo!
Lubricate your dildo and lay it flat on a surface that you can straddle, like a pile of cushions or a narrow chair. Sit on the dildo so that it runs from your clitoris to your anus i.e. between your legs. Now slide your body back and forth so that your weight pushes your clitoris and other sensitive parts down onto the shaft. If this becomes tiring then grasp the end of the dildo that is sticking out the front and work it back and forth against yourself.
Use your head!
The head of a lubricated dildo can be rubbed against the clitoris in a circular, or up and down motion. This provides stimulation to the clit that will drive you wild! More pressure will result in a quicker climax whilst less pressure takes longer, but gives a "worth the wait" intense orgasm!
